V-bank HEPA filters for cleanroom HVAC: a high-efficiency stage behind the pre-filter, or the pre-filter that protects the terminal units.

A V-bank HEPA filter is a high-efficiency stage that sits behind a pre-filter and ahead of the room's terminal filters, or serves as the pre-filter that protects them. Ultrafine glass fibre media is pleated into V-shaped cells rather than laid flat, which packs far more filtration area into the same face, so one element carries a large airflow at a resistance a flat panel could not hold. That is what makes it usable in air handling units where the available depth is limited.

Construction follows from that geometry. The pleat packs are bonded into a rigid metal frame with the cell joints sealed, because the gaps between cells are the bypass path, and unfiltered air takes any opening in preference to the media. Grade selection depends on the duty: used as a second stage, the element has to hold the efficiency class the cleanroom classification demands, while one used only as a pre-filter is chosen for dust holding and for the interval it gives the terminal filters behind it. Change-out is driven by pressure drop, and the final resistance setpoint matters more than a calendar.

## Key features

- **Filtration grades**: F9 to H14 (Four standard grades in one frame across the size table)
- **Low initial resistance**: 125 – 320 Pa (Declared per grade, from F9 to H14)
- **Rated airflow**: 1,520 – 3,400 m³/h (Covered by the six standard sizes in each grade)
- **Media area**: 7.40 – 24.26 m² (V-shaped cells pack the area into a 292 mm depth)
- **Face velocity**: 2.5 m/s (Held constant across every size in the table)
- **Final resistance**: 250 – 500 Pa (The change-out setpoint for the differential pressure gauge)
- **Six sizes per grade**: 592/610 mm faces (4V and 5V versions in 292 mm depth)
- **Sealed cell joints**: PU bonded packs (The gaps between cells are the bypass path, so they are sealed)
