Activated carbon media that adsorbs odours and low concentrations of organic compounds in spray booth and coating air supply systems.

Activated carbon filter media is a gas-phase adsorption medium: powdered activated carbon is carried on an open honeycomb polyurethane foam, so air passes through at low resistance while odours and low concentrations of organic compounds are held on the carbon surface. It sits after the particulate stage in the air intake of spray booths and coating systems, where the air it releases is the air that reaches the wet film, so it is specified for gas and odour removal rather than for dust holding alone.

The media is supplied as flat sheet — cut slices, framed slices or whole rolls — so it can be fitted into an existing intake or filter frame without changing the equipment layout. Carbon content and thickness are the two variables that trade adsorption capacity against pressure drop: more carbon holds more gas but adds resistance across the media. Selection therefore starts from the airflow and the contaminant concentration at the intake, and the flame retardant rating has to be confirmed separately wherever solvents are present. Change-out is driven by odour breakthrough and rising resistance across the media, not by a fixed interval.

## Key features

- **Carbon content**: ≥ 40% / ≥ 55% (Two loadings trade adsorption capacity against pressure drop)
- **Benzene adsorption**: ≥ 24 wt% (Gas-phase duty — odours and low-concentration organics, not dust holding alone)
- **Low resistance**: 20 Pa initial (Open honeycomb foam keeps resistance flat at 1.5 m/s)
- **Flame retardant**: F1, B1 (Rated F-1 to DIN 53438 for solvent-bearing air)
- **Slices or full rolls**: 1.0 / 1.2 / 2.0 m × 20 m (Fits an existing intake or filter frame without changing the layout)
- **Operating temperature**: 180 °C max (Suits spray booth and coating air supply systems)
